BIOTECH LAB

The biotechnology lab is being set up. It comprises of Microbiology Lab, Biochemistry Lab, Molecular Biology Lab, Bioinformatics Lab, Bioprocess Engineering Lab, Genetic Engineering Lab, Plant and Animal Cell Lab & Chemical Engineering Lab

The Laboratory is under development. It is expected to familiarize the students with the most modern techniques. Experiments include handling of microscopes, calibration and measurement of biological samples, determination of the potency of drugs/antibiotics and biotransformation, production of monoclonal, antibodies, bacterial culture, animal & plants cell culture, spectrophotometry, chromatography, ELISA, protein & enzymes assays, isolation & sequencing of DNA, PCR, fermentation, western, southern & northern blotting, waste water treatment, determination of thermal conductivity, emissive power & heat transfer coefficient.

About 20 (twenty) students can work at a time in the lab. Laboratory projects in three semesters would be introduced with a view to develop confidence & scientific acumen in the students in Biotechnology.
