PROGRAMS - FULL TIME

The Following programs are available at WCAS.

Following Diploma, and Advanced Diploma programs are also available as exit routes to the above mentioned degree programs :

1. Diploma in Electronics and Communication Technology / Computer Engineering / Computer Application / Business Administration.
2. Advanced Diploma in Electronics and Communication Technology / Computer Engineering.

Subject to a minimum enrollment, the institute will also register students for part-time BBA based programs. Late afternoon or evening classes for part-time students would be conducted at the college premises. Facility of credits for advanced standing students would be available to the working persons under the continuing education scheme in accordance with the university rules.

A brief description of programs and fees there of is given below:

Bachelor of Engineering (BE)

At present, under the BE programs, WCAS is conduction three programs, namely, Computer Science (CS), Electronics and Communication (EC) and Biotechnology.

1. Duration of the programs: Four years (Eight semesters)

2. Fees: RO 2,000.000 per year payable in two equal installments of RO 1,000.000 before commencement of every semester. Total fee for the whole program is RO 8,000.000. At the time of admission the student is required to pay a refundable caution deposit of RO 200.000. The caution deposit will be refunded to the student at the time of leaving the college. Once admitted, the paid tuition fees will not be refunded.

3. Foundation program in BE : Based on the performance at the entrance evaluation test, students will be admitted to one year foundation program, where they will be coached in English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology so that they come up to the entry level of the respective BE degree programs. The fees for foundation program in BE will be the same as that of the degree program.

4. Maximum duration: A student is allowed to pursue the BE degree program for a maximum of seven years (fourteen semesters), excluding the foundation year, provided he/she fulfills other academic regulations during this period.

5. Eligibility for admission: Student having minimum 50% marks in aggregate at the secondary / senior secondary level exams with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (and / or Biology for BE (Biotechnology)) are eligible to apply for admission. The firm admission to the degree program will be granted only after and on the basis of the entrance evaluation test conducted by WCAS in Muscat or CBSE-AIEEE examination score. Students who do not qualify in the entrance evaluation test for the direct admission to the degree program will be given an option (subject to their performance in entrance evaluation test) to undergo one year foundation program.

6. Exit points with award of Certificate, Diploma and Advanced Diploma:
   A student desirous of leaving BE (EC) or BE (CS) program after successfully completing one year, two years or three years of the degree programs will be awarded Certificate, Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Electronics and Communication Technology or Computer Engineering respectively.

Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA)

There are two programs being conducted under BCA. A three year program will entitle a student to obtain BCA (in Oman it will be equated to Advanced Diploma / Higher National Diploma by Ministry of Higher Education for the purposes of jobs in Oman) degree and the four year program a BCA (Hons.) degree.

1. Duration of the program: Three years (six semesters) for BCA and four years (eight semesters) for BCA (Hons.) programs.

2. Fees: RO 1,570.000 per year payable in two equal installments of RO 785.000 before commencement of every semester. Total fee for the whole program is RO 4,710.000 for BCA and RO 6,280.000 for BCA (Hons.). At the time of admission the student is required to pay a refundable caution deposit of RO 100.000. The caution deposit will be refunded to the student at the time of leaving the college. Once admitted, the paid tuition fees will not be refunded.

3. Eligibility for admission: Student having minimum 50% marks in aggregate at the secondary / senior secondary level exams with Mathematics / Business Mathematics / IT are eligible to apply for admission. The firm admission to the degree program will be granted only after and on the basis of the entrance evaluation test conducted by WCAS in Muscat or CBSEAIEEE examination score. Students who do not qualify in the entrance evaluation test for the direct admission to the degree program will be given an option (subject to their performance in entrance evaluation test) to undergo one year foundation program.

6. Exit points with award of Certificate, Diploma: A student desirous of leaving BCA program after successfully completing one year or two years of the degree program will be awarded Certificate or Diploma respectively in Computer Application.

Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Bachelor of Business Administration & Information Technology (BBA &IT), BBA & Finance, BBA & Accountancy, BBA & Banking, BBA & Human Resource Development, and BBA & Commerce programs

1. Duration of the program : BBA program is of three years (six semesters) duration, while the rest of the programs are of four (eight semesters) years duration.

2. Fees: Fees for the programs is RO 1,570.000 per year payable in two equal installments of RO 785.000 before commencement of every semester. Total fee for the whole program is RO 4,710.000 for BBA and RO 6,280.000 for BBA & IT. At the time of admission the student is required to pay a refundable caution deposit of RO 100.000. The caution deposit will be refunded to the student at the time of leaving the college. Once admitted, the paid tuition fees will not be refunded.

Foundation program in BBA, BBA & IT, BBA & Finance, BBA & Accountancy, BBA & Banking, BBA & HRD, BBA & Commerce : Based on the performance at the entrance evaluation test, students will be admitted to one year foundation program, where they will be coached in English so that they come up to the entry level of the BBA and BBA & IT degree programs. The fees for foundation program in BBA and BBA & IT will be the same as that of the degree programs.

Maximum duration : A student is allowed to pursue BBA degree program for a maximum of six years (twelve semesters) and the rest of the degree programs for eight years (sixteen semesters) respectively, excluding the foundation year, provided he/she fulfills other academic regulations during this period.

Master of Business Administration (MBA) Program:  

1. Duration of the program :  MBA program is of 2 years (4 Semesters) duration

2. Fees: Fees for the programs is RO 2,500.000 per year payable in installments of RO 1250.000 before the commencement of every Semester. Total fee for the whole program is RO 5,000.000 . At the time of admission the student is required to pay a refundable caution deposit of RO 200.000. The caution deposit will be refunded to the student at the time of leaving the college. Once admitted, the paid tuition fees will not be refunded.

3. Maximum duration : A student is allowed to pursue MBA degree program for a maximum of Six Semesters (Three years), provided he/she fulfills other academic regulations during this period.

4. Eligibility for admission: Student having minimum 50% marks in aggregate at the Graduate level exams is eligible to apply for admission. The firm admission to the degree program will be granted only after and on the basis of the entrance evaluation test conducted by WCAS in Muscat or valid CAT / MAT / GMAT or equivalent score.

5. The original Bachelor Degree certificates and transcripts has to be submitted by the Omani Nationals before admission for getting approval from the Ministry of Higher Education, Sultanate of Oman.
